What a graceful and beautiful style exhibits in this fine work. The iconic cottages and church are just one part of the entire experience. Look deeper and the reflections, the trees as they appear in reality are so well depicted. Edward Seago captured the look of trees in his work in a similar manner. You have brought your own style and and meticulous understanding to elevate this Benjamin Williams scene to new heights. It is an exciting painting. You should be very pleased as I find this a masterwork.

Glenn Marshall replied:

Thank you very much James. This is a special painting for me as I grew up with a print of it on my mum's wall. When I first started painting I used to gaze at it and hope to be able to get somewhere near the incredible talent of Benjamin Williams. The print was faded so I was able to use my imagination in choosing colours and mood. I am a great admirer of the Victorian painters and lament that their skill and vision is so underrated these days. Once again thanks.
