Another painting in my series of bagpipes, this piece is one of the drones from the Grainger bagpipes that belonged to my Father-In-Law�s uncle Horace MacCombie. The pipes are from the mid to late 40�s and haven�t been played for nearly 40 years. The drones are adorned with silver and ivory and are really quite spectacular to the point that the paintings I have done really don�t quite do them justice. This piece is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paints on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The coarse paper and heavily granulated paints help to add the textures necessary to add increased interest to this piece. The original is 14�x10.25� in size.
