Karen Cattel is a special artist and her whimsical art looks great on the two sturdy totes I purchased. One is a gift for a friend and the other is for me. I love them.

I so appreciate being able to have this old-fashioned outdoor dinner scene on a tote bag. It is adorable. Thank you for making it available.

I noted that the color came out differently on this size of bag, it is distinctly more purple. I happen to love that color also--the larger size has perfect color, exactly like the photo. I love both of my bags.

The strong, bold forms of desert flora stand out against sky and ocean.
I'm a photographer, writer, educator based on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in photomontage work, combining photos I've taken of rust, walls, peeling paint, birds, postage stamps, trees, etc. into images that are completely new, different, and often weird. I also create physical collages, then find myself photographing parts of them to include in my photomontages. It's crazy, but it's fun! My career has encompassed writing guidebooks (primarily about where to photograph in California), newsletters (guides for photographers about where to photograph in the United States), leading photo workshops, and conducting online classes. Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. -- Congratulations on your recent sale of this an amazing work!

Robert Stapleton
Hi, Love this. Can you tell me what size the original art is and if the photo of it was shot at a high res? These will determine how large the print can be made and still do justice to the original. Thanks, Robert Stapleton
Carol Leigh replied:
According to the pixel count and Fine Art America's standards, the largest this image can be printed is 36x36 inches. The original art is a photograph, not a painting. The picture began with a Canon EOS 50D 35mm camera, ISO 125. Other elements (more photos) were then added to the photo to create what you're seeing here. You can also blow this image up to 100% at the Fine Art America website to see for yourself what the image will look like and how crisp it will be. At the end of my message to you is a link to the picture, which will also show you the various sizes available. Hope I've answered your question! It's not a "straight" photograph. It began with a photograph, and then, as usual, I began adding things to it from there. Let me know if you need any additional information. I do remember taking the "base" image at a cactus garden at Mission San Juan Capistrano. Thanks for liking it -- I think it's pretty cool myself! We are moving in across country in just two weeks, but we KNOW this is a piece we want to buy. Need to get into the house to first to determine what size we will order. Wow! Just love this!!!
Carol Leigh replied:
Thanks, Stephanie. I've got it hanging in my own house as part of a gallery and I really like it. Best of luck with your move -- we just moved ourselves, and it's no fun at all.
