A hot air balloon just above the waters of Glacier Bay.
This image was taken as two images. My wife and I were on a cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Alaska. She is totally disabled from a stroke and often she cannot be with me when I am shooting. This day she was not doing well enough for me to be able to wheel her on deck. I wanted her to be able to feel as if she were there; perhaps floating or drifting into the bay in a balloon so I added the balloon; hopefully giving the viewer the feeling of being in a second balloon following the first.
I shot the balloon in Washington a week earlier, I added it and the reflection then worked with the water to make it look as if it was being affected by the balloon. A major part of my work in photography is to bring what I see home to her so she can feel as if she were there herself.
