When will I get my order???
My previous posting depicted the first dream I remember, in which I floated happily above a playground. During my childhood I had floating dreams quite frequently, but this drawing depicts my last, at around age 9 or 10. I was hungrily eating raisins in our Wyoming cabin, when a young bear lumbered through the open door. I wanted to chase it away, but I floated up and bobbed about, bumping the ceiling uncomfortably. I felt furious at this helpless state, especially when the bear sat at the table and gobbled up all my raisins! I never had another floating dream. From then on, I flew.
I have been an artist since I was knee high to a short-horned locust. My dad, Willoughby Senior (FAA) was a professional artist and writer and I have stepped in his shoes since I was born, though he drew horses better than I did when I was a kid. My family lived in a hand-hewn log cabin we built ourselves in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and had no water or electricity. I love my life with my husband and family in Wyoming among the horses, gophers, deer, antelope, coyotes, red-tailed hawks, and the wild landscape. My work is driven by the land, animals, wild plants and birds I have come to know so well. Hummingbirds still try to get nectar from my upturned fingers. My artwork consists of all these things and more...
