The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. Artist's Description
This scene has always intrigued me. It is the welcoming sign seen from a lonely stretch of highway not far from Millelacs Lake in Beautiful northern Minnesota. I painted this on location (en plein air) beginning the painting at 9pm and finishing up a little after midnight. A lot of people stopped and wanted to know if I had car trouble, but then found out it was just another crazy artist.
About Duane Barnhart
The translucent quality of watercolor lets the paper reflect light to create an inner glow that gives the painting more life. I enjoy both plein air (painting on location) and working in my studio in Northern Minnesota. I try to capture a sense of presence and a fresh look at the subject. I am a member of the Northstar Watermedia Society and the Minnesota Watercolor Society. My paintings have been in juried exhibits, galleries and private collections throughout the region.
