Bell's telephone patent, 1876. Printed patent drawings of the electromagnetic systems used by the improved telegraphy machine invented by Scottish-born Canadian-US engineer and inventor Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922). This invention would become known as the telephone. The patent ensured that Bell and his company were able to make millions of dollars from developing and selling the new invention. This is patent number 174,465 from the US Patent Office, dated 7 March 1876.
