Love the contrast/composition

While touring the African American Museum of I-story and Culture in Washington, D.C. I viewed the original film clip that this painting is based upon. It was a real treat to see the clip. It felt good to know that my inspiration was a proud woman that made ends meet by providing, through difficult times for her self and family. Make it a point to visit this museum.

Hello Alga, Wow. That is a memory one doesn't soon forget. It shows what our elders had to go through to make ends meet. Peace, O.

Hi Otis, love this. My father remembers making 30 cents for 100 pounds of cotton and he as a young boy picked 200 pounds a day from sun up to sun down. He is 94.

So very powerful O..stark and arresting...L/F

Beautiful work Otis!

O, this seems like a good time for me to re-post this magnificent painting to facebook.

Thanks to all that were able to come by and view the Color Blind exhibit. I'm looking forward to the next exhibition. I will keep everyone posted. Peace, O.

returning to promote this favorite to facebook.

Fantastic Field worker....prepared for the max..

I just love this one, I do genealogy research and seeing this painting, my mind just went back in time.

a true, moving and powerful work, stark and strikingly beautiful.

This is an eye-catching painting with an interesting, informative, if not enlightening description. You are a teacher O! Thanks for sharing! L/F

Stunning capture of a difficult life.
