The blue-naped parrot is found throughout the Philippines, the Talaud Islands, Borneo, Sabah, Malaysia and Indonesia. Habitat loss and trapping threaten future extinction. Mangos, bananas, seeds, and nuts are among its favorite foods. Their docile personalities, playfulness, and readiness to talk make these birds great family pets. They spend most of their time playing, so, as pets, they need a lot of attention, ample space, and lots of toys. As pets, blue-naped parrots live very long lives of up to 60 years (or more) and could outlive their owners. For this reason, it is wise to make a long-term plan of keeping it as part of the family. “Blue-naped Parrot in Mango Tree,” is a hand painted digital composite created by Spadecaller.
