The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

My brother was the astronaut who shot this photo on the STS 58 mission; since he was photographing on behalf of NASA, his name is not directly linked to the photo. He was passionate about mountains, to include climbing. He was featured in National Geographic, noting that their map of Everest allowed him to specifically identify that he had captured the view of K2. It is a nice piece of art in its own right, but the backstory is meaningful to our family and we are glad we could acquire this art. We have bought both an acrylic version and a metal version; both are great mediums for this specific photo.

The end of a rainbow over the ocean at Bondi Beach with the properties of North Bondi reaching out along the horizon.
-- Artist Notes --
Temperature indicated a sweltering 40 C and weather forecasts were of clear blue skies all around, so with that knowledge, I thought I would put on the boardies and head to Bondi for a swim to cool down and to capture the full moon rising over the water in the evening.
I went to pull out my camera when I suddenly realized the lid to my new sunscreen had removed itself and emptied its contents all through my equipment (lesson learned). I had to act quick and try and save as many electronic components as possible. For the next 20 minutes I was frantically cleaning off sunscreen and once I was done I turned around ready to shoot and noticed the offshore winds had managed to clear all the people from the beach and skies were now dark grey as far as the eye could see from a storm that rolled in.
