Just built a new home and was looking to purchase pictures of old plantation homes to decorate living room. I visited Oak Alley Plantation years ago and it is one of my favorites. Beautiful painting adds a nice touch to my living room.

Just built a new home and was looking to purchase pictures of old plantation homes to decorate walls. This one caught my eye. I was born and raised and still reside in Jefferson Davis Parish so this solidified my decision to make this purchase. Beautiful picture adds a nice touch to my living room

Artist's Description

An illustration of my poem: The dark had smothered the fires of heaven And even gods prayed for a hero. Demons sensing life stretch long Sneered at the presence of Yama. And Brahma, dismayed, whispered to Indra ‘Bring forth here a child of Shiva.’ ‘Even in youth, a child of the Storm Will carry war to the demon doorstep.’ But Indra knew of Shiva’s grief Of his silence that ate up mountains. Kama brought maidens, eyes so bright Bejewelled and tender of waist. All set out proudly, sure of their beauty, But hearts hammered in unison. Until, at last, they beheld the Storm Lord Tranquil within his mountain palace, Eyes within drinking bliss. And seeing the depths of his blissful grief, Seeing fate now wrapping their doom, Still they pressed forward the mission. Shiva, seated, upon his throne of frost, At One with rock and wind. About Randhir Rawatlal

These paintings are produced to illustrate the stories and poetry I write. My writings focus on Indian classical literature, about 60% of it being translations of our ancient stories. To contribute to the overuse of the word, I am busy "contemporising". I don't have a background in the arts, nor do I really know what to do with these paintings of mine. So I guess I'm just testing my fortune here. If you do have an idea of where I might publish these, then please go ahead and drop me a line.
