This is my first purchase from Fine Art America. I had an idea in my mind of what I wanted to hang in our newly renovated master bathroom wall. I searched all over the internet and then came upon Fine Art America online. It took months of searching but when I came upon Carol Robinson's collection I liked her style and soft, airy prints. I found Lost Horizon and knew right away that was the look I had been searching for. I like that I was able to choose the print size, frame, and mat that helped procure the look I wanted. Artist's Description
This old button accordion belonged to my wife's Great-Grandmother who apparently got it when she was a little girl. I have simplified it and left off a lot of the graphics but have tried to loosely interpret the age of the instrument. It is painted with a combination of Winsor and Newton, Daniel Smith, and 18th century reproduction watercolor paints on Arches 140# paper.
The original has been sold and is owned by the accordion player for the Celtic rock band, "The Mighty Regis."

One of them ended up on the album cover of a traditional Irish folk album by Dan Possumato while this particular one is owned by the accordion player for the Celtic rock band "The Mighty Regis." Yes, very nice piece. Nothing "stunning" in the piece, yet it's simplicity and simple rendering makes it "stunning". Balanced, interesting composition. I guess in a European, Old World sort of way, the small hand-accordion that Stromboli uses in Walt Disney's "Pinocchio", is a 'button accordion'.
