A black and white portrait of a curly-haired little boy wearing a playful smile and overalls while sitting on a rock speckled with sunlight; drawn with graphite pencils.
Sammy is a special little boy living with Mitochondrial Disease (Mito). Mito is a rare disease. It's progressive and it affects multiple organs/systems and muscles. Despite being sick and facing an unsure future, Sammy lives life to the fullest. He doesn't even realize he is sick. He's just a happy little boy and a beacon of light for everyone blessed enough to meet him. Sammy is loved by a supportive and nurturing family that help him to live in the present and make the most out of every minute.
