This was a gift for a Vermont native. She had been to this sight and was very happy. I did an acrylic painting for her as well. I am not a trained artist, extremely amateur, but she was quite touched by the personal touch.

Painting of a Dark, Gothic, Abandoned Castle in Southern Venezuela - Spanish Style - Abandoned, dilapidated, possibly haunted on the edge of a mountain cliff long since forgotten.
I was inspired to create this as I've been studying natural landscapes/hardscapes of rock formations and it amazes me that people over the years and even up to several thousand years ago could climb 10,000 feet and build a structure in an impossible area even by today's standards while moving thousands of tons of stone and blending the architecture naturally with the surrounding hardscape.
James Christopher Hill was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1966. After working as a professional artist in the early 1980's, James finally received formal training at the prestigious Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL. In 1998, he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Animation; a field that focused mainly on the understanding and discipline of master drawing and painting skills. His senior thesis entitled "Jataka" took home the Gold Oscar in the category of Best Student Computer Animation in 1998 from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. After he graduated he then returned to his love of painting utilizing his new skills and knowledge to create his ongoing style of...
