Polaroid transfer of historical Chain of Rocks Bridge in St. Louis, Missouri. The Chain of Rocks bridge was once part of Route 66 and it spans the Mississippi River just north of downtown St. Louis. The bridge is now closed to vehicles, but is open to bicycles and pedestrians. As you can see from this photo, the bridge has a 45 degree turn in the middle of the bridge.
I used the Polaroid transfer process to create this image. Polaroid transfers are considered by some a crossover art, between a photograph and a painting.

My current passion is an alternative photographic process called Polaroid transfers. Each transfer is hand-made by the photographer using specific materials and equipment to achieve a desired effect. A transparency is projected on to professional Polaroid print film and as development begins, the print and chemicals are prematurely separated. The image is transferred on to dampened watercolor paper for a unique image which has a dated, artistic photo-painting appearance. Exposure, pressure, time, paper and other variables make each print an original mono-print. Jerry, There was an actual curve in this bridge. I did not photo shop the curve into the pic. Lots and lots of accidents happened as a result of that bend in the road.
