As I grow older and my time serving in the U.S, Navy Submarine service gets further and further in my past, I my fond memories and my pride in service continually grows. The Silver Submarine Dolphins are in a prime space on my wall and remind me, and those that visit me, of my time on the USS Queenfish (SSN 651) and my pride in doing so. You never know when on a Facebook page about cats, you "meet" the artist of a beloved icon of Saint Gertrude of Nivelles, you have wanted for seven years!!! I have already found THE place to place Saint Gertrude, I can see her when in the kitchen. The quality of the icon is breath taking, so so precious. Thank you Miss Jennifer for this amazing icon!!! On a wintery walk along a favorite trail in Boulder Colorado, we paused at the top of Marshal Mesa to enjoy a bird's eye view of the snow covered landscape below. The old Cherryvale schoolhouse can be seen, roof aglow in the sunlight, near the ribbon of a road winding off into the distance. If you look closely, you can see a teeny red car.
About Anne Gifford
Anne Gifford is an award winning artist and the eight time poster artist for Colorado's Bolder Boulder 10K Memorial Day Race, one of the largest road races in the United States. She began her career as a silkscreen artist. After 25 years of printmaking, Anne now works with watercolor, building successive layers of color to create her vibrant, rich, and detailed paintings. She has lived in Colorado since 1976 and finds inspiration in the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Her paintings, like a pictorial journal, have chronicled her journey thus far.
