The oversized Christmas lights during the annual 6th Avenue display in New York City. A delight for children of all ages especially me. This year (2019) the weather was extremely warm (in the 50's) allowing for photography in comfort rather that freezing your tushy.
Every single year, I eagerly wait for December because I know that Rockefeller Center and surrounding areas of midtown Manhattan will be dolled up in their holiday finest. Tree branches are entirely ensconced with holiday lights, giant ornaments sit stop golden fountains and even street food vendors go out of their way to accessorize their food stands with holiday decorations.
This display close to Rockefeller Center is one of my favorites. It’s a New York City holiday decoration extravaganza. It sits across from Radio City Music Hall (home of the Rockettes and Radio City Christmas Spectacular) on 6th Avenue and is absolutely gorgeous at night. Giant red ornament balls sit on a fountain which is surrounded by trees ensconced in holiday lights.
