Description
This painting was created for a little girl named Cloe. Cloe's Mom Gina discovered her daughter had a congenital heart defect (CHD) when she was 21 weeks pregnant, during an ultrasound to diagnose her Down Syndrome. Her Atrioventricular Septal Defect created a hole in her heart and caused a moderate valve regurgitation. Cloe battled her CHD, having two open heart surgeries (the first one at three months old) and six pacemaker surgeries.
Today she is doing well, though she still struggles with her CHD, has a speech delay and uses sign language . Described by her Mom as a "spitfire", this Art Heart depicts her story with the sign for "spirit". The flame represents her fiery personality in life and her headstrong way of facing the future. This painting is part of the Art Hearts series, donated to Olivia's Heart Fund.
