A wonderful and expressive portrait! I hope he has found a new friend. LF

Don Schroder replied:

As a matter of fact, he has indeed found a friend, a beautiful, jet-black Percheron named Max. An Amish farmer donated him to Hopewell Furnace.

Wonderful image of a beautiful animal. Only one thing disturbs me in that picture, Don. It looks like he has two left rear legs. There is definitely another limb either in front of the original limb or behind it. Does anyone else see it or am I seeing things?

Don Schroder replied:

Thank you, Patty. Clouseau has just one left rear leg but I see what you're saying. :~)

Thank you! And he has a new friend, Max, another Percheron donated by an Amish farmer. Here are some pix I took back in Jan after a light snow. One of my faves to shoot. http://www.donschroder.com/RecentWork/2013/01-26-2013/27757658_Bc2jJK#!i=2341759308&k=B2G3F97

And some people think that animals have no souls and that they don't have the ability to miss those animals that are close to them. This photo tells it all. Beautiful capture and subject Don.

Don Schroder replied:

Thanks Cheryl. There's no doubt they have the ability to miss those close to them. The horse next to my daughter's horse was put down a couple days ago and he's been miserable along with other horses in the barn.

A beautiful capture Don, there is so much expression in the shot that one can almost feel the loss. F/V

Don Schroder replied:

Thanks Blair. He does have an expression of sadness.

Fine Art America is like the Pandora of art. There are so many fine artists out there without an outlet for their work to reach a broader outlet. I bought this item as greeting cards. I am no art critic but I know what I like. The ethereal aspect of this lovely piece touches me.
