The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo's are found in a variety of timbered habitats and are common around human settlements throughout the northern and eastern mainland of Australia, and Tasmania. A small population has become established around Perth, Western Australia. This critically endangered species also occurs in New Guinea and the Aru Islands. The bird presented in this image is perched on a Ginkgo Biloba tree branch, which is the oldest surviving species of tree known to exist. “Cockatoo and Ginkgo Tree,” is a digital photo composite and painting created by Spadecaller.
