Description
Colonel Art Jeffrey was a USAAF fighter ace in WWII, shooting down 14 German aircraft over western Europe in P-38 Lightnings and P-51 Mustangs.
He is credited with being the first pilot to shoot down an Me-163 Komet rocket-propelled fighter and twice shot down three aircraft on one mission (Bf 109s and FW 190s).
Please note, I DO NOT recommend buying this image as a canvas print as the small text may not be readable, but it will be fine on other formats.
I photographed most of the pilots in my project myself; however, as I was unable to see him face-to-face, Mike Schoenholtz in Portland, Oregon, photographed all my American pilots.
I had a long chat with Art and this can be seen on my YouTube channel Pilots and Partisans. This was part of a project I am doing where I photograph combatants (40 so far ... and counting) and get their stories for use in photo books I am writing. The photo book is available from my website www.PilotsAndPartisans.com - buying this also helps me to keep doing this work.
