Product Review Image

I bought this in the greeting card form. I have been purchasing cards from Fine Art America for two or three years. Covid might have been some of the reason for looking for cards on the internet. Shops were closed. The main reason I buy cards from FAA is because I got tired of looking for cards at the usual card shops. I could find cards (sometimes) that looked good on the outside but the verses were terrible or it was the other way around...terrible on the outside but maybe a decent verse inside. I pick cards from FAA that fit with the occasion. I figure I can write something on the inside as good as any card company could. I wouldn't buy these cards if I didn't think they were wonderful. The cards are beautiful and excellent quality and the envelopes are equality as good. I am glad I can make a copy of what I've bought so I can keep track of who gets what card. I don't want to send the same card to someone twice. In this case, the card is going to someone for Mother's Day.

Artist's Description

Infrared analog photo of colossal monolithic columns located on mount Karystos at Kylindroi, Evoia 600 m.above sea. There is an ancient and Hellenistic quarry with 8 big pillars lying on the ground. The biggest has height 11 m with a diameter of 2,20m. It was a great technological achievement to have the columns dragged all the way down to the sea-port at Karystos. The pillars then will be loaded on the ships, to be sailed away as far as Libya (Temple of Zeus, Kerene), Rome (Temple of Antonios and Faustina) Hadrian's Library in Athens and for Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. I used Kodak B/W Infrared High-speed film along 25 R filter on the lens. The peculiarities of infrared photography lie in the ability of the film to record what the eye can not see. Infrared photography has various applications in forensic science, medicine, wildlife photography, astrophotography, botany, archaeology, in pollution detection in the environment and in industrial applications. The experimenting photog...
