Description
Computer hard disc head. Close-up of an anisotropic magnetoresistive (AMR) read-write head from a computer's hard drive. Hard drives are used to read and store data. Four of these heads sit over two disc platters (grey). The discs are coated on both sides with a magnetic material that transforms the disc's magnetic field into an electrical current when reading the disk, and turns the electrical current into a magnetic field when writing to the disk.
