This piece, also done with a soft background and no drips and splatters, is one of my favorites. It has since been sold and now lives in Joplin, Mo. It is also the first in this series to have a crescent in it, instead of all of them being spheres.

Self taught, I have gleaned techniques and ideas from art books and magazines. Prefering a palette knife to a brush, I employ the splatter techniques of Jackson Pollock, and ideas from other artists I admire. Some of which are very evident. I also really like the simplicity of my sumi ink works, done with sumi ink and a Japanese calligraphy brush. But, my preferred media is acrylic and enamels on canvas. I do occasionally work with oils, and just recently started working with water color and gouache. I attended culinary school in Dallas, Tx, then worked for a number of years as a chef in Dallas and then in Eureka Springs, Ar. There, in Arkansas, is where I really started to paint seriously.
