Description
This is a photograph of a hot springs pond in Crane, Oregon, near Burns, Oregon. The springs contain the following minerals: calcium, sodium, magnesium, silica, potassium, iron. Soaking in a hot springs with minerals is supposed to be very good for removing toxins and relieve joint pain. It did feel good after a day roaming about looking at birds in the Malheur Wildlife Refuge and searching out wild horse herds throughout Harney County. The water was about 100 degrees, but probably cooler than that in the outer reaches of the pond.
A hot spring is produced by geothermally heated groundwater.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
I currently reside in Oregon, an environment rich in nature's graces. I have lived in California and New York, too, and everywhere there is a world of beauty around us, if we care to take the time and look for it.

I did not know that there were hot springs in Oregon. The details in your photo are crisp. The sky is very dramatic and adds to the mood.
