Damage in Xenia, Ohio, USA, from 1974 super tornado outbreak. The tornado that caused this damage killed 32 and destroyed large parts of the town. This tornado was part of the 1974 super tornado outbreak, where 148 tornadoes killed 315 people and injured over 5000. A tornado is a violent rotating column of air that can form from severe thunderstorms called supercells. Tornadoes can be devastating in their impact with extremely high wind speeds. Photographed on 3 April 1974.
