Description
The Wen Bai bird, a bird completely white except for the red accent on its beak, epitomizes good luck in Chinese culture. Red is considered an extremely lucky color, which is the reason why important and jubilant celebrations such as weddings and the Chinese lunar new year are dominated by the color red. In this painting, the red leaves, few and far in between around the white Wen Bai bird alludes to the rare and improbable nature of an extremely lucky but unlikely event occurring. However, the red beak of the bird, which can be interpreted as where one of the red leaves fell, suggests that fortune fell directly on him. Formerly completely white and devoid of the lucky color red, the symbolism of the Wen Bai bird suggests a circumstance in which all the odds are stacked against you and yet through perseverance and a little stroke of luck, you made the impossible happen. The Wen Bai bird represents hope and is a promising reminder to chase your dreams and goals, and to never give up, because one day it pays off. The presence of the Wen Bai bird is a sign that your lucky break is just around the corner. This is an authentic traditional Chinese style watercolor done by a local painter of a village with hundreds of years of history and culture in China.
