Beautiful and colorful macro of dandelion losing seeds.
I photographed the dandelion first thing in the morning. This image is part of a series of dandelion I created as an artistic exercise. Every morning I would first go out and create a different image, no two would look alike. I received so my attention on my social media account that I decided to paint this collection of images and made them my BFA thesis. The dandelion is one of the most misunderstood plants. It has so many health benefits but we are conditioned to think of dandelion as a weed. Dandelions are the first and last food of the year for honey bees and another beneficial insect. Please, when you see them leave them alone. You can pop the flowerheads off when the dandelion goes to seed to keep them under check.
Taraxacum is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, which consists of species commonly known as dandelions. They are native to Eurasia and North America, but the two commonplace species worldwide.
The health benefits of dandelion include relief from liver disorders, diabetes, urinary disorders, acne, jaundice, cancer, and anemia. It also helps in maintaining bone health, skin care, and weight loss. All these health benefits are currently being studied for complete validation by a number of international institutions.
