This piece is very true to it's picture very defined. The cup itself is of fine quality as well. The story behind it was beautiful to read. When I look at it, it will take me back to the first time that I saw and read the story. Glad I took the time to purchase. No regrets!

I was not impressed. The picture was not on the whole mug the way the picture shows.

Amazing Beautiful
A pile of dirty, broken plates and dishes, along with a couple of empty beer bottles litter the ground among the dead leaves and weeds in a densely wooded area. I came across this little collage of cast-off stuff while on a field trip some years ago with my photo group. I don't think anyone else in our group bothered to take its photo, but I thought it was unusual and kind of pretty in an ugly way. I found my original 35mm slide recently and I couldn't resist playing with the image a bit. (Actually, I only cropped it and gave it a bit of texture.)

Artist Statement I have always loved intense color and strong light! It probably has something to do with growing up in mid-century Miami, a wonderland of saturated pastel colors from the neon lights that were everywhere in those days. I discovered photography fairly early and used my skills as a photographer to illustrate the many news stories and feature articles I wrote for newspapers and magazines over three decades. In recent years, I began experimenting with digital technology, changing my photo images in ways I never thought possible back in the days of 35mm film cameras.

Fabulous find and capture and edits, Claudia. I'm always fascinated by these kinds of things. Where we lived before there was a huge parkland ... well, technically park, but basically just forest area. I think the homeless frequented part of it and any ramblings I did back there were with a sharp eye out for ticks and scary humans, lol. But there were often finds like yours, broken bits tossed ... that always got the imagination going. I love the blue china in this art piece. You know, at some point it was someone's pride and joy. A very thought-provoking and somewhat sad image, when you imagine the story behind it. Excellent work!!!! l/f and t
