Description

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

We love Frode Jacobsen's pictures. And not just because he is our son-in-law! He is a nature photographer extraordinaire. We brought five cards with his pictures on the cover — a bald eagle in flight, a bumblebee on milkweed, a humming bird in flight, an avocet (a kind of wading bird) in flight, a monarch butterfly, and a golden-winged warbler.

Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Western art had been, from the Renaissance up to the middle of the 19th century, underpinned by the logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of visible reality. The arts of cultures other than the European had become accessible and showed alternative ways of describing visual experience to the artist. By the end of the 19th century many artists felt a need to create a new kind of art which would encompass the fundamental changes taking place in technology, science and philosophy. The sources from which individual artists drew their theoretical arguments were diverse, and reflected the social and intellectual preoccupations in all areas of Western culture at that time. Photography has been my passion since my first Kodak Instamatic when I was about 10 years old. I am self taught in photography, schooled in Graphic Design and Printing/Publishing.
