Description
MODEL RELEASED. Dyslexia glasses. Dyslexic girl wearing glasses fitted with Irlen lenses reads a book. Dyslexia is a specific reading disability characterized by difficulty in coping with written symbols. Some cases have scotopic sensitivity. Their eyes are sensitive to black print on white paper, particularly under fluorescent light. For them, the words may appear to move around or even slip over the page's edge. Helen Irlen from the USA found that the glare from a page of print was eradicated when certain tinted lenses were worn. Irlen lenses make it easier for dyslexia sufferers to concentrate and they tire less quickly. However, appropriate tuition is also essential.
