Congratulations on your recent sale!!

Catherine Twomey replied:

Thank you Gene, and thanks very much to the collector.

Beautiful painting with wonderful color and detail!

Catherine Twomey replied:

Thank you Christina, for your kind words. I am now working on a painting of this white oak in its full size. It's hundreds of years old, and very unusual because of it's flared trunk. Best, Catherine

Still havent received this painting after multiple times contacting customer support. Pretty upset and bummed out no one will get back to me seeing as I already paid for it. Pretty lame of you guys to take my money and not get back to me, this was supposed to be a birthday gift.

Very nice but felt it was overpriced.when it was complete in the frame with glass and mount looked good.

Mary Magdalene is my favorite saint and I just love this image because it is beautiful and I think it captures the feelings she must have had when she realized that Jesus had risen.

Artist's Description

Ancient Earlysville White Oak I'm thinking back to the glorious day I was able to sit underneath and paint this tree. It probably saw General George Armstrong Custer during the Civil War, heading to battle over Rio Hill along Seminole Trail Road. And what about all those trips Thomas Jefferson took up the Trial and over to visit his Montpelier friend, James Madison? This tree knows a lot. Taking a bough: Among the estimated 172 million trees in AlbemarleCounty, the Earlysville Oak is royalty. It's the second largest white oak (Quercus alba) in Virginia, and when it was first setting its roots the nation was just starting to grow as well. From its position near Earlysville Road it has seen oxen drawn wagons evolve into fume-belching vehicles, and then aircraft join the birds flying above its spreading crown. It's a unique tree. The base of it is flared; it's very unusual for an oak to have that much flare at the bottom.
