One of a pair sculptures in the Vatican's Belvedere Courtyad, identified of the Lions of Nectanebo. They are said to date to the reign of Pharoah Nectanebo II (360 - 343 B.C.) and are believed to be from Hermolpolis in northern Egypt. Excavated in 1435, they were formerly displayed in front of Rome's Pantheon.
