Every one wants to UNLOCK the Door of their prison d life. but the same time they want to LOCK many other things. so I believe KEY is the answer for both.

Very cool the way the Arches paper embossment runs parallel with the vertical of the door and then, horizontal with the edge of the paper. Not to mention the overall design of this. A frank, unaffected innocence to this -- I want the inside circle of the knob to have more shine, but I know also that's unlikely since the entire fixture is tarnished with age.

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Kip! I do think it would have been improved by more shine in the center of the knob as well.

This looks like the doorknobs in my old farmhome! Very, very nicely done.

I am really just getting started Ian. My main occupation is as a band instrument repair technician. As far as my art goes, I am currently representing myself but plan to expand to galleries in the future. I am very passionate about what I am doing and am excited to see how my work evolves over time. What an incredible journey we are on.

Dear Ken, I admire your work. I noticed that you use unique, handmade antique pigments, I may have to try some out. I like your subjects - really nice, well observed work. You have an unusual eye. I hope your work is selling well on the West Coast. Do you show at galleries, or are you mainly self-representing? Be well, Ian Newbury

This also has the same expert conception and execution as the glass door knob piece -- perhaps even better, because you don't have the transparent beauty of the other's crystal knob. But all the same power and tension is here. Very dynamic piece, with appropriate care in all the right places. A successful illusion of the knob itself thrusting towards us right out of the picture.
