I took a default, I paid and I still haven't received it, I got in touch and they told me to settle with another company, I bought from you and the responsibility is yours. I want my refund.

This was a gift for our son in Ca. who has leukemia. Since he was born and raised in Texas we thought it would make a perfect gift to remind him of home. He sent back a text message saying how beautiful the photo is and also the complete product looked so great on their wall. He was astounded with the quality of workmanship. Thanks so much!

Absolutely an amazing piece of artwork, the artist was very skilled with the blending of colors. I couldn't have asked for a better piece!

Artist's Description

Extinct giant gorilla (Gigantopithecus sp.). Artist's impression of the extinct giant gorilla Gigantopithecus facing the silhouette of a modern-day human and mountain gorilla. Gigantopithecus lived between 6 million and 100,000 years ago and is the largest primate that ever existed. Fossil evidence is restricted to teeth and jaw fragments, but show that it had a mainly bamboo diet. Gigantopithecus would stand 3 metres tall if upright and weigh up to 500 kilograms, 3 times larger than modern-day gorillas (Gorilla gorilla).

About Christian Darkin

Christian Darkin

Science Photo Library was founded in 1981 by Michael Marten, one of the authors of "Worlds Within Worlds", a book exploring different ways to observe the universe - from electron micrographs, to images of earthrise taken from the Apollo spacecraft. When Marten started receiving requests for the beautiful images in the book, he had an idea of setting up Science Photo Library. Since then, Science Photo Library has continued to work alongside world acclaimed photographers and the leading science and medical experts to provide a central source of the best science and specialist imagery available. Although the collection started with scientific images, it has grown to encompass all aspects of science and their impact on everyday life.
