Love the painting and the rich colorful blues, reds, greens, & yellows! A nice addition to our cowboy/southwest decor vibe.

Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.
Artist's Description
In book six, Tammy writes in her diary, "As you might imagine, an opossum, a mongoose, and a bird cannot read at all; although I had taught Zeke and Cedric to write their names. They had learned the first four letters of the alphabet from an ABC book Lord Wixby had given me. I was proud of them. After all, how many animals would ever want to read?"
Several books were discovered in the shed along with the diary including this one by Father Tuck. We imagine that Tammy used this book to teach Cedric and Zeke to read.
We have partially restored it to its Victorian beauty. We did did keep the withered pages intact as we wanted the reader to experience the joy of viewing the book as would any modern-day collector.
We hope that children may learn and enjoy from it. Look for other ABC books in this vintage 1883 series.

L/Fav; Too Cute Reynold Jay!
Reynold Jay replied:
Thank you, Tom!
Anthony Lyon
Such an endearing image Reynold. It reminds me of the sales posters put out by the British company Lever Brothers when they introduced 'Sunlight Soap' - around 1883-84 I think. This scene is full of quiet charm and nostalgia. Lovely work. Fav'/voted
Reynold Jay replied:
Thank you! Anthony. I bet you are correct on those estimates on the age.
Lexa Harpell
Your work exudes a labour of love Reynold - as these are done with such a delicate eye and hand...the tones are so soft and subtle! :))
Reynold Jay replied:
Thank you Lexa!

Adorable images that distract me to look more detail. Wonderful restoration work, Reynold. And interesting description about Raphael Tuck & Sons. Admired how people still keep the vintage series for long decade. Anyway this is my fav.
Reynold Jay replied:
Thank you, Melly-- I agree that this is so very nice.
