Description
From a day with a low lying mist on the loch, this seems very common from my time here which leads to great atmosphere and you can understand how legend and mystery have enveloped the area for so many years.
This is taken from a small fishery on the South side of the loch, a short walk from the small village of Foyers.
A long exposure was used to smooth the water in order to keep the composition more minimal and black and white tones to suit the atmosphere of the day.

I've never been fishing on Loch Ness, but this reminds me of days gone by. Very nostalgic foe me. Love it!

I spent a year working in Scotland (Isle of Iona in the Outer Hebrides to be exact). Your photos are beautiful and bring back a lot of very fond memories.
Chris Dale replied:
Hi Justin, thanks so much for the comment, that means a lot. I've only visited Scotland on holidays and not as remote as that, but I have this printed large above my fireplace to bring back my own memories, so I'm glad it works for you too!

Love the long exposure which really does contribute to the sense of quiet and mist and mystery. Beautiful composition and I love the bit of warmth in your black and white; it really does make a great difference.
