This is a digital oil painting titled French Quarter Stroll No.2 by Rebecca Korpita of a wonderful old building in New Orleans - an old stucco building with faded green shutters that sits across from the old French Market at the corner of Barracks and Decatur. People stroll past enjoying the beautiful spring weather while colorful bicycles wait on a balcony above. This was done from an original photograph taken during the French Quarter Festival.
Rebecca Korpita is an artist living on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. Her artwork and illustrations reside in collections worldwide, appears on book covers, in magazines and are licensed on home goods and accessories. She is inspired by the coastal area in which she lives - the beach, the people, the lifestyle, the culture, old things and quirky things. Living near New Orleans, she loves the small colorful shotgun houses and captures them whenever she visits. Key West and all things tropical as well as women and their friendships and dogs and cats and their relationships with the people they own are some of her subjects.
