Description
Fuchsia of My Dreams, by: Beverly Guilliams......................................................................
This is a Fuchsia of mine that I captured before we moved. I Love this plant, one of my favorite colors and types.....I was glad I got to capture this beauty so I would have it for life. It's one fuchsia that looks like it dances in the wind. ( and that is what it is doing.)
Fuchsia is a vivid purplish red color, named after the color of the flower of the fuchsia plant, which was named so by a botanist, Charles Plumier after the 16th century German botanist Leonhart Fuchs. The color fuchsia was first introduced as the color of a new aniline dye called fuchsine, patented in 1859 by the French chemist François-Emmanuel Verguin. The dye was renamed magenta later in the same year, to celebrate a victory of the French army at the Battle of Magenta on June 4, 1859, near the Italian city of that name. The first recorded use of fuchsia as a color name in English was in 1892........

Outstanding color and detail in this wonderful capture of these lovely fuchsia blossoms, Beverly! It's great that you captured them forever before you moved, and yes, they do seem to be dancing! l/f

The colors here are fantastic. I have great difficulty choosing which one I wish to comment on at the moment. This is beautiful!

Oh yes, these are a longed for favorite, and such a beautiful capture! We cannot seem to keep these blooming well at all because our garden has full sun in the summer, and really we have nowhere else to hang them. I always look at them longingly in our garden center, but I will not harm another one. The color of these are just too amazing, love!!
