Unfortunately, I never met this lovely lady; however, according to her devoted son, she was a kind, loving mother and gentle grandmother who nurtured the entire family. This portrait was commissioned posthumously in loving memory of his mother.
Naturally, as a portrait painter, I prefer to work from good color photos but I realize they are sometimes hard to come by so I do the best I can with the photos I am given. I can work from photos as small as 1.5" x 2" and in black-and-white to produce a colorful portrait such as was the case with the watercolor painting shown here. Commission a portrait of a special loved one in your family. All portraits are hand-painted with sensitivity by international portrait artist Hanne Lore Koehler.

How wonderful for her son to commission you to do this for him and his family. If only more people did this for their families to pass along in their legacy..
