Me too. I think it's a fabulous idea and we are in perfect agreement on this!! Thank you, Lenore. :)

Lenore, Lil and I challenge each other at times, they will hang side by side in both of our homes, I'm very excited to see them together.

Lil~I must be in the mood for sandhill cranes today...or any bird. I see you and Sharon are going at it, but I have to say both are such excellent images. I love the different moods created by each due to colors, posture, etc. They are both fabulous! Vote and fave.

Ok, just saw Sharon's Sandhills and they are so beautiful, you won't even believe it. The queen of the birds!!

Thank you so much, Devaughn and thanks for visiting!!! I hope to look at your own site tonight (though the day has slipped away from me again) or tomorrow. I do like having an original style so thanks!! :)

Beautiful image of Mr. Garcia... photo was tack sharp, colors were saturated, price was a little stiff, but I think it was worth it. This was framed and given to my best friend as a gift. He saw the Grateful Dead in concert over 20 times.

I love George Booth. He is one of the great cartoonists. Where is his work? I search the New Yorker and am unhappy not to find any. Please give us back George Booth. Louise Kurshan

I love these cards with the Clydesdales horses. I had a jumper and I miss riding but I now have bad knees.

Artist's Description

I have felt this urge to paint our wonderful, gentle Sandhill Cranes ever since I read the article about Kentucky giving the green light to hunt the "wary and elusive" Sandhill Crane for a month every year. These beautiful birds are definitely not elusive as you can hear their ear-splitting honks from 25 miles away signifying they're coming but they mate for life and have one, maybe two babies a year. The baby stays with the parents for one or two years. If the male or female of the pair is killed, they will never mate again and the family is doomed. With their slow reproductive rate (like a manatee) and their rarity, it's shameful the state is allowing this on an protected species. They try to claim it's a different bird but since it looks the same and has the same characterustucs, I'm pretty sure the only difference is they are migrating at the time. But, they are tasty, they say. This original watercolor is painted on heavy Arches paper and is unframed.

About Lil Taylor

***** As a watercolorist, I take my inspiration from the places I've lived and visited. Many of my paintings were done while living in Florida. Now that I'm living in North Carolina, I can hopefully expand my base to more of the native species of flowers and animals here. Ever since I was a small girl, I have always loved, nature - felt a part of the beauty and order which surrounds us everyday. The intricacies of colors in nature astounded me. I remember a starling that had been shot and I found alive back when I would nurse animals back to health. Starlings are known as ugly birds but as I looked at it in the sunlight, I was amazed with the myriad of colors reflected back at me. Blues, purples, reds all invaded my...
