Description
Photographic artwork by Cindy Treger. Photographed at the Gettysburg Battlefield in Gettysburg, PA. Brig. Gen. George Sears Green was the oldest general at Gettysburg, at the age of 62. Greene's brigade was made up of five regiments that defended the Union right at Culp's Hill. ("Greene's brigade, of the Second Division, remained in the intrenchments, and the failure of the enemy to gain entire possession of our works was due entirely to the skill of General Greene and the heroic valor of his troops. his brigade suffered severely, but maintained its position, and held the enemy in check until the return of Williams' division." - Maj. Gen. Henry Slocum to Maj. Gen. George Mede, December 30, 1863.) His monument was dedicated in 1906.

Cindy, Your homage to one of our nation's dark moments is appropriately sepia toned. Thank you for these amazing Historical re-enactment moments. It is so important to ... Remember ...lest history repeat itself without having LEARNED from its wounds... So beautifully offered...LF
