Kerryn , Thank you for your gracious comment on "Chalice". You are so "on the money" in regards to the meaning of the piece . The descriptions for you work are worth keeping in themselves. This one stopped me for a long while. I bow. Dale

Thank you, Fine Art America, for this very strongly reproduced work of Mark Ashkenazi. Displayed in the gym room in my home, it never fails to inspire me. Thank you, also to Mark for creating this artwork.

The picture is beautiful as are all of Spencer Meagher's works. It is a wedding gift to a couple who spent their honeymoon in the area where this picture was painted. So I will be unable to supply you with a photo. But I can tell you I am very pleased with the painting and I have high hopes the happy couple will be as well.

This was my second metal print and I have not been disappointed. Quality is first class on both my metal pictures. They are glossy as metal prints are. I do love them but am hoping maybe some non-glare metal prints will also be available in the future. But for now, these are really very very nice and good not to have to mat and frame everything. They are ready to hang right out of the box and really do look sharp on the wall.

Artist's Description

Symbology: The basket/vessel imagery used is a symbol-metaphor for our being, how we fill 'with meaning' (open, receptive, upright form) and empty, pour out (upside down image) our ''thoughtful'' thoughts in words and deeds! The colours used and 'x' shapes imply one's physical and spiritual 'connections' and 'relationships' as we keep transforming as humans 'being'. ........................................................................ I also relate the vessel images to the music symbol shapes of the 'U' and its inverted - 'upside down U' (which I cannot type literally). They relate to processes of how much we are open/receptive/for transcending our physical 'barriers' to beyond and closed/blocking out/used as a protective barrier/nurture. These two shapes in 'reflection' symbolize eg. duality, balancing opposites such as yin and yan and are a representation of one's life's work. .........................................................................................
