After each process, the vase is put into the oven to heat the glass to a very high temperature so that it can be further shaped into the end product! Often, before the glob is put back into the oven, it is rolled in various products or metals, or silver leaf placed upon the outside of it and then, placed back into the oven to form the gorgeous layers of glass that gives the final vase beautiful, artistic depth of character!
Spring 2021 Award and Honors: I am pleased to say that two of my photos have been accepted into the 24th Annual Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild Spring Art Show taking place at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC. One of them, "Seeking the Sun," was chosen for an honorable mention! The other photo is called, "Coneflower Jumble." Thank you, Beth and Sean! We witnessed this glass blowing demo last weekend and it was a wonderful experience! A husband and wife team who do demos this time of year, up until the heat of summer, I think.
