A beautiful quote from the New Testament paired with the beauty of a Monarch butterfly, transformed from caterpillar to butterfly.

The Monarch Butterfly, or simply Monarch is a North American Butterfly. Its brilliant markings of orange and black as it flutters from plant to plant, make it easily recognizable. A milkweed butterfly, it relies on the milkweed plant for food for the larvae.

In July of 2022, the International Union for Conservation of Nature added the Monarch butterfly to its red list of endangered species.

The life cycles or instars of a Monarch butterfly begin with an egg or larva which turns into the caterpillar. Eating only the leaves of the milkweed plant, it will spin a thread of silk which it will use to attach itself to the leaves of the plant. It will then transform itself from the caterpillar to the next stage or instar..the pupal stage. Most people refer to this as the cocoon. Within 9 to 14 days, the pupa will split open and the Monarch butterfly will emerge, and once again all things are new!
