This is a soft pastel on paper of a colorful blue ridge sunset in southwest virginia. I am always fascinated by the skies in this region and the atmospheric effect on the mountains. I have spent many hours on the Blue Ridge Parkway with my husband and son and am always entertained by the beautiful vistas. In the distance the colors of the mountains disolve into warm and cool colors of the light reflected on them. The pastel was placed on the paper in small marks in a multitude of the finest grumbacher and rembrandt colors to capture the intensity of light and texture in the mountains and sky. Purchaser will have to get this framed. I cannot guarantee that there will be no pastel dust on the mat if I shipped it framed. The pastel is loose on a cardboard backing covered in acetate.
