Description
I started this piece plein air during the summer at Golden Ponds located in Longmont, Colorado. I used a watercolor canvas by Fredrix (Fredricks sp?), and indeed did watercolor on site. In the studio, I started scraping acrylics over it and finally finished it over the fall/winter season, so it morphed into a fall landscape. I love fall. I have been experimenting using acrylics over watercolors. I have found that I have to use a spray varnish to put a protective layer on before a traditional layer of varnish. If I don't, the watercolor will be disturbed. This painting sold at a show in Boulder in October, 2012.
