Description
For some time I have been exploring the concept of using the light and energy passing through the lens of my camera to "paint" an image. I had a vision, but was blind to it until I developed a method to add time and motion to the equation. "Gossamer Specter" is a product of this quest and technique. It transforms architectural features such as pillars and beams into fantastic shapes, scenes and apparitions such as "Gossamer Specter", quite impossible to perceive with the human eye.
.............................................................................
"Gossamer Specter" is created solely by a photographic technique relying on the focused light and energy of a single exposure in the camera to offer a different visual reality... A reality of light through time and motion.
..........................................................
The sublime magic of of this surreal image is such that I can offer it in two mirror image perspectives to give interior designers and art directors greater options and flexibility for their designs. The "Gossamer Specter" and "Gossamer Specter 2" sequence will allow for book-end style compositions in an interior design.
..............................................................
"Gossamer Specter" is only being issued as a limited edition print, with a total of 50 copies to be produced. If you desire a signed certificate of authenticity when you purchase this Douglas Taylor Fine Art Print of "Gossamer Specter", please contact the artist via e-mail at: douglas@pricklypearadise.com
..............................................................
Signed, numbered and authenticated prints may be obtained directly from the artist as well. This is the first public exhibition "Gossamer Specter". It is a full frame, 2:3 ratio format image, and is featured in my Creative Photography - "Bending the Beam" gallery.
