This looks gorgeous printed on wood. It is now hanging on my therapy office wall and is perfect. The color is true to the photo. I love it.
Artist's Description
I was deeply moved by the teachings of the haudenosaunee by the great teacher Handsome Lake Seneca, wolf clan. Fortunately the sacred revelations transmitted to and through him have been preserved and translated.
There are no photographs of this Teacher, though some exist of his other relations. I am painting this out of respect to his message, great trials he endured and acknowledgement of a message greatly impacting modern people.
This painting is not meant to exactly represent handsome Lake's likeness. It is an honoring piece in spirit.
About Chholing Taha
Welcome to my workshop. I am certified Indigenous artisan of Cree First Nations heritage who, for the past 40+ years, have been art-making and writing in my home studio. I am now residing within the beautiful boundaries of Minnesota with my family and pugs. As child exploring the rich northeastern woodlands of the U.S. and Canada territory during the 1940-50's is where my spirit was exposed to a rich and varied environment that influences my artwork today.
