But his portfolio contains many other subjects as well. His life in photography offically began when he was in the United States Navy in 1966. His ship anchored in Hong Kong Harbor for a few days of R&R. While there Jim purchased his first 35mm camera, an Asahi Pentax 35mm along with a couple of lenses. and lots of film so he could photograph the Chinese culture including architecture, people, and special places.
